Maria Fernanda Londono is a bilingual (English-Spanish) therapist. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of Georgia. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work, with a graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy, from the University of Georgia in 2012. She received the Outstanding Student Award “Summa Cum Laude.” She has also received specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
After obtaining her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Georgia State University in 2004, she quickly grew her experience by working with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child sexual abuse. More recent, Maria Fernanda has worked helping children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of issues including anger management, anxiety, behavioral problems, depression, and trauma. Maria Fernanda is a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS II) and has extensive experience facilitating anger management classes for adults/children and support groups for domestic violence survivors.
Maria Fernanda’s work is centered on eclectic therapy, which incorporates various therapeutic approaches that are supported by evidence-based practices. Previous to working at the Counseling Institute of Atlanta, she worked in several nonprofit agencies, including Atlanta Victim Assistance Inc., the Latin American Association, Rainbow Village, and the Gwinnett Sexual Assault Center & Children’s Advocacy Center. Maria Fernanda is a member of the Georgia Society for Clinical Social Work (GSCSW) and a member of the Phi Alpha National Honor Society.
