DeLisha Lipscomb holds a Marriage and Family Therapy Master’s degree at Northcentral University. DeLisha has worked in the school system for over nine years helping students with emotional behavioral disorder (EBD). She is extremely passionate and dedicated to the staff, students and their families. DeLisha is certified in Life Space Crisis Intervention (LSCI), Mindset, Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), and the TEEL method. LSCI is a therapeutic, verbal strategy for turning crisis situations into a learning opportunity for children. Mindset and CPI use positive strategies for handling difficult situations. The TEEL method consists of tracking, empathy, encouragement and limit setting, which uses play therapy language. Utilizing these certifications, DeLisha is able to provide support, life skills coaching and behavior modifications. She makes the most of these therapeutic interventions to de-escalate crisis situations.

DeLisha has worked with a community service board and another agency providing case management, supportive counseling, crisis and clinical intervention in the community and school system to children that are emotionally disturbed and to their family members. She has worked several years in two residential psychiatric facilities with children and adolescents. DeLisha has volunteered with the Douglas County Task Force on the Domestic Assault Response Team and Sexual Assault Response Team.

DeLisha will emphasize a collaborative counseling environment, built on trust, safety, and compassion. She will draw from a variety of counseling theories, techniques and modalities to reach the client’s potential and goals. DeLisha’s education and professional experience has prepared her to counsel individuals, couples and families.
